Media Integrity

“Media integrity refers to the ability of a media outlet to serve the public interest and democratic process, making it resilient to institutional corruption within the media system, economy of influence, conflicting dependence and political clientelism.”

Mission: To build a media infrastructure in the US that incentivizes honest, unbiased dissemination of political information and to fight back against media capture by rightwing billionaires.

Strategy: Identify regulation, legislation, and citizen actions that will help build a fair media infrastructure and mobilize the Indivisible membership to make them happen.

Goals for 2023:

• Push to strengthen Net neutrality at the Federal and State level
• Promote local ownership of news media in Howard County and Maryland more broadly
• Reduce the influence of Republican state media (aka FOX News, OAN, Sinclair, etc.)
