March For Our Lives

On March 24, the kids and families of March For Our Lives will take to the streets to demand that their lives and safety become a priority and that we end gun violence and mass shootings in our schools today.

The three closest marches to Howard County are in Washington DC, Baltimore, and Silver Spring.

Washington DC.

The march starts at noon at Pennsylvania Ave NW and 3rd Street NW Washington, DC 20001

This is the main march and several hundred thousand people are expected. Metro is running rush hour service with off-peak fares (Closest metro to the march is Judiciary Square)

Options to get there besides driving:

1) Indivisible carpool: We’ll meet at 9 AM (leaving 9:15) at the Broken Land Park and Ride West (side) to carpool to the Greenbelt Metro.  It’s best if you can get your metro card before then, but there is an option to stop at CVS on the way.

2) Marylanders to Prevent Gun Violence is organizing buses from Howard County to take people to the March on the 24th. Please email to reserve a round trip seat and MPGV shirt ($40)

3) Lyft is offering free rides to anyone going to the march.

4) The Ellicott City Huddle is organizing buses: Ellicott City Rally Bus information: $55 or $50 with purchase of 6 or more tickets. Departs: Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 8:40 AM from Walmart Super Center 3200 North Ridge Road, Ellicott City Arrives Washington, DC at 10 AM Returns: From Washington DC at ~ 6:45 PM (may be earlier) No one is charged until trip is confirmed.
